Marks Tey Radio was started in 1960 by the owner, Nigel Fitch, who until around 1970, carried on business as a family radio/TV retail unit with a TV aerial contracting side accounting for about 50% of the turnover.
Almost by accident, the Public Address business was started after the owner was annoyed by the poor quality of the PA from the Conservative candidate’s vehicle passing his house advertising an election meeting. He complained at the meeting and offered to do something about it. The next day he bought 2 speakers and a 30 watt amplifier…from then the public address business had started.
Over forty five years later, Marks Tey Radio PA Systems is one of the largest PA contractors in the Eastern Counties, providing indoor and outdoor coverage to all major events over an area of 100 miles from base and sometimes further.
